EAST Thurrock United boss John Coventry has praised the decision of the Ryman Premier League to postpone tomorrow’s league match with beleagured Farnborough.
Rocks had been expecting the Ryman Premier League newcomers to play their first match of the season at Rookery Hill, after their opening matches of the new campaign were put on hold due to financial difficulties, with the Hampshire club failing to pay a bond of £30,000.
Having seen their appeal overturned, the debt has now been paid, but Coventry is pleased at the decision.
“It made sense,” he said. “We hadn’t had time to prepare properly because of their situation and that is the way it is.”
Rocks are back in action against Hendon on Monday.
