THE PREVIEW: East Thurrock United play their first home match since the opening day of the season when Kingstonian visit Rookery Hill tomorrow.

However, a Saturday off last week served John Coventry’s team well as they ended Hendon’s 21 match unbeaten run thanks to a Lewis Smith brace on Monday.

Kingstonian, many people’s tip to challenge for promotion this season, started slowly with consecutive defeats, but have scored 10 goals without reply in their last two home games.

Pelayo Pico Gomez is their man to watch, leading the scoring charts in the division early on.

Sam Higgins struck twice in this fixture last year to ensure a share of the spoils for Rocks in a 2-2 draw.

WHAT HE SAYS: Rocks boss Coventry, said: “We were excellent on Monday and really got the performance we needed. Everything we wanted was there and to end such an impressive record is a great feeling for the players. “The team played well but Ryan Scott and Lewis Smith, inset, deserve a particular mention.

“Kingstonian are a team who are quite similar to us in many ways. “They have had a big overhaul of their squad and if they click together on Saturday they will cause us problems.

“But we are ready to push on and it will be nice to get back to Rookery Hill and ,hopefully, put on a good show.”
