CANVEY Island and East Thurrock United are into the hat for tomorrow’s Essex Senior Cup fourth round draw after beating Barking and Great Wakering Rovers respectively.

The Gulls beat Essex Senior League side Barking 3-1 despite falling behind early in the match.

Former Canvey man Kieran English put Barking ahead but the visitors weren’t in arrears for long.

Jay Curran, restored to the team after injury, grabbed the leveler before the game was turned on its head.

George Sykes scored the first goal since his return with a 20-yard strike and Tony Stokes, another new addition, made it 3-1 on the stroke of half-time and that was how it stayed.

A weakened East Thurrock side beat Great Wakering 3-0 at Rookery Hill.

Darren Phillips scored midway through the first-half, plus two second-half strikes from Harry Honesty and Tom Anderson knocked Gary Ansell’s side out of the competition.
