THE PREVIEW: Concord got in the mood for this vital encounter with an impressive 3-0 win at Weston-Super-Mare last weekend.

That result against the side third from bottom pulled Concord six points clear from the relegation places and a win against the team at the bottom of the National League South tomorrow could they them nine points from the danger zone.

The Beach Boys are in the best form they have been in all season and have won three of their last four games although it is a different story for Basingstoke.

The Hampshire side have won just once in 15 games this season, and not at all on the road, although they do boast a 100 per cent record at the Aspect Arena.

They also reached the first round of the FA Cup, where they were knocked out by League Two Cambridge United.

WHAT HE SAYS: Concord manager Adam Flanagan said: “Our season will be defined by how we do against the teams that are in and around us so it is an important game.

“That said, I don’t think this game is any bigger than the ones we face each week. Yes, it is against the team that are bottom of the league but they have had some impressive wins in the FA Cup this year and that suggests they are a far better team than their league position suggests.

“Basingstoke are somewhat of a bogey team for Concord and tomorrow gives us an opportunity to change that and set a new trend.”
