Wroxham 2-4 Great Wakering Rovers

GREAT Wakering Rovers survived a comeback to return to form with a thumping 4-2 win at Wroxham.
A brace from Jake Gordon, plus goals from Jay Nash and a first Rovers goal for John Easterford was enough for Gary Ansell’s men, after the new manager suffered back-to-back defeats against Maldon & Tiptree and East Thurrock in the past week.
Rovers had lost the reverse fixture 4-3 in a thrilling encounter earlier in the season but they were not going to let the same thing happen again.
Nash opened the scoring in the first 15 minutes, with a goal that was just reward for their early efforts and that joy was doubled three minutes before the break.
Gordon got his first strike of the afternoon to continue his hot streak in front of goal.
But it appeared as though a fine first-half was going to go to waste after the break, when Jamie Forshaw scored eight minutes after the break.
And when Seamus Kelleher scored an equaliser 15 minutes from the end it appeared as though the result would only go one way.
But up popped Easterford just three minutes later to get his first goal for the club since Ansell brought him in at the start of the month.
Gordon got his second as the clock ticked down to hand Rovers a fine away win.
Great Wakering Rovers: Seal, Pugsley, Worrell, Barlow (Vaughan), Easterford, Hepburn, Johnson (Sands), Bradley, Gordon, Nash, Cleaver (Jacobs)
