CANVEY Island have cancelled Tambeson Eyong's registration forms after he breached club discipline following last Saturday's 3-3 draw at Brentwood Town.

The dynamic midfielder is believed to have been involved in a furious bust-up with team-mate Lawrence Yiga, as the Gulls let a three-goal lead slip to draw the match.

The future of Eyong, who had already been suspended for a total of 10 games this season, has been discussed this week but the club have tonight decided to cancel his registration forms.

Gulls manager Danny Heale confirmed there had been some trouble after the match, and told the Echo earlier today that Eyong’s future at the club was now uncertain.

“Something happened but the club is dealing with it,” Heale told the Echo this morning. “Tam remains a Canvey player for the moment until we have looked at exactly what happened.”

However, they have now made the decision to part ways with Eyong, who had played 25 times this season, scoring four goals.

The club have also added a player to their ranks, bringing back striker Taylor Tombides after he was released by Hull City.

The forward, 19, made an instant impact last season, netting a hat-trick on his debut, and Heale will be hoping he can make a similar contribution when East Thurrock visit on Saturday.
