Hayes and Yeading v Concord Rangers/ NATIONAL LEAGUE SOUTH

The preview: Both sides have plenty to play for in the final weeks, although in very difference senses.

Concord won the Essex Senior Cup in the week and will be looking to get back to winning ways in the league after last weekend's surprising defeat at Bath City.

Hemel Hempstead, who sit fifth at the moment, dropped points on Tuesday to boost the Beach Boys hopes of a late surge into those places although they face stiff competition.

Hayes and Yeading sit in the relegation zone, although it is their goal difference that is keeping them second-from-bottom.

A win would be huge for both sides, although Concord are in better form, having won three out of their last six games, whereas Hayes have won just one of their last six.

Hayes and Yeading ran out 3-0 winners at Concord earlier in the season.

What he said: Beach Boys boss Adam Flanagan said: “It is important to finish the season as strongly as possible as this will then hopefully put us in a good place for next season.

“I am not looking at the play-off places at the moment and am just looking for performances from the players and the team to see how many of the remaining 12 points we can obtain.

“The Hayes & Yeading defeat was a painful one but they deserved to win on the day. This was probably rock bottom for us and not long after this result changes were made and we thankfully started to improve.

“If we want to get a result tomorrow then we must compete better than we did in the previous game because Hayes will be fighting for their survival. We must work harder to retrieve and keep the ball and more importantly cut down on the mistakes that we made as in the first game as we concede a penalty and got caught napping with two crosses into the box, all of which was avoidable.”
