BASILDON United will be hoping it is a case of second time lucky when they visit Greenhouse Sports tomorrow.
The Bees were 3-0 in this fixture on Monday night, only for the floodlights to go out and the game to be abandoned.
However, Craig Gillam’s side will be strong favourites to pick up another three points in their bid to be champions this season, and they will need the points with Bowers & Pitsea breathing down their necks.
Basildon are without Ben Sartain, Grant Hayward, Vinny Murphy, Justin Maynard, Taylor Sinfield and Brad Hunter who are all injured or unavailable.
Bowers sit third after Wednesday night’s 4-0 victory over Greenhouse, and are set to win the league on goal difference if they and Basildon win all their remaining games.
Bowers head to Hullbridge Sports in what is the first league meeting between the two this season.
With the reverse fixture Bowers’ final game of the season, Sports will have a big say in the destination of the Essex Senior League one way or another.
Sports are missing around eight key players due to injuries and other commitments.
Southend Manor will be hopeful of a positive finale when they travel to basement club Newham.
Sports haven’t played in a fortnight and will be keen to bridge the gap between themselves and the three sides sitting just above them in the standings.
