NON-LEAGUE clubs have learned who they will be facing in the opening rounds of the FA Cup, FA Trophy and FA Vase.

Ryman North and Essex Senior League sides were pulled out of the hat in the extra-preliminary and preliminary rounds of the competition today, with tricky tests for the south Essex step nine teams, all of whom were drawn away.

Basildon United travel to step 10 team Whitton United, of the Eastern Counties first division, Hullbridge Sports visit Wivenhoe Town of the Eastern Counties Premier Division and Southend Manor take on Essex Senior League rivals Sawbridgeworth Town on Saturday, August 6.

Bowers & Pitsea play their first ever preliminary round tie after their promotion last season, and travel to Ryman North opponents Waltham Abbey, with Great Wakering Rovers handed a very tough assignment at Brightlingsea Regent on the weekend of Saturday, August 20.

Should the Essex Senior League trio win their matches, Basildon and Hullbridge will again take to the road against Cheshunt and Romford respectively. Manor will host either Enfield 1983 or Tower Hamlets.

Ryman Premier League pair Billericay Town and Canvey Island will be drawn in the first qualifying round while National League South duo East Thurrock United and Concord Rangers do not enter the competition until the second qualifying round.

The FA Trophy gets underway in the second week of October, with the preliminary round and first qualifying rounds drawn at Wembley earlier today.

Bowers & Pitsea, who reached the semi-final of the FA Vase last year, will face a tough start to life in this competition, as they visit Ryman North powerhouses Thurrock, with the champions of that division last season, AFC Sudbury waiting in the following round.

Great Wakering also have a tough assignment at Maldon & Tiptree on Saturday, October 8, and will visit Billericay Town at the end of the month should they win that match.

Canvey Island visit fellow Ryman Premier League outfit Enfield Town on Saturday, October 29.

In the FA Vase first qualifying round on Saturday, September 24, Southend Manor take on Essex Senior League new boys West Essex, with Canning Town waiting in the next round.

Basildon United will enter the competition in the first round after their second-placed league finish last year, and Hullbridge in the second round after they reached the fourth round of the Vase last time out.
