l RUNDOWN: IT is a key encounter towards the bottom of the Ryman Premier League as Leatherhead make the trip to New Lodge to face Billericay Town.

After a positive start to the league campaign, Town have lost four on the spin although did pick up a win in FA Cup qualifying last weekend.

The form of Quentin Monville has done much to ignite optimism at the club and Billericay will be looking for a similarly impressive display against the Tanners.

Leatherhead occupy 20th position, one place above Billericay, and have been comfortably beaten by Canvey Island already this term.

The visitors have conceded 11 goals in their six games and this will give Town manager Craig Edwards hope.

l MANAGER’S VIEW: Town manager Craig Edwards said: “Anyone who has watched any of our games will say the only thing missing is the lack of a goal scorer. We have brought Greg Cundle from Gillingham and the under-21s look very good and they beat Cray Wanderers 10-3 earlier this week.

“Once we kick into gear we will be OK. I can’t remember having a good start to the season at Billericay.

“Pre-season can be misleading and I thought we were capable of making that positive start but we have needed a bit more time to gel this year.

“It is a good group though.

“Leatherhead have had as poor a start but beat Merstham recently so that will give them confidence. It will be tough but we are confident.”

l TEAM NEWS: Fully-fit squad, several new faces may be added ahead of kick-off.
