BOWERS & Pitsea’s excellent start to the season continued as they earned all three points at Dereham Town.

Luke Wilson, James Thomas and Ben Sartain got the goals for Bowers, as they came back from a half-time deficit to earn the win.

They did start the brighter of the two, with centre-back Wilson, so effective in forward positions, sending a drive over the cross bar.

Lewis Manor, a doubt ahead of kick-off, then came close himself as a header from a Jamie Salmon free-kick looked to have got the better of the goalkeeper but it flew into the side-netting.

Dan Beaumont scored the only goal of the half with 17 minutes on the clock but there was plenty to give manager Rob Small encouragement ahead of the second-half.

And five minutes into it, Bowers were level. A deep free-kick from Harley Kee found Wilson and he slid in to divert the ball home.

Manor was denied by a good save, while Shomari Barnwell missed a golden chance when he was denied in a one-on-one.

But they did get their reward 19 minutes from time. Manor worked an opening brilliantly and substitute Thomas was on hand to blast into the net.

The Dereham goal was under siege, with a further goal ruled out although Bowers stopper Bobby Mason was called on more than once to keep the lead intact.

But in the final moments the result was made safe, as Barnwell and Fahad Nyanja combined to set up Sartain who scored with aplomb.
