A BRACE from debutante Goldy Capela helped 10-man Billericay see off Leatherhead and end their run of four straight league defeats.

The youngster had impressed for the Under-21s in the week with two goals and he followed that up against the Tanners, having climbed off the substitutes bench.

However, Billericay had fallen behind on the half hour mark, with Kiernan Hughes-Mason scoring the opener.

But Town were given the chance to get back on level terms shortly before half-time.

New loan signing Greg Cundle did brilliantly to turn in the penalty area and the referee spotted his shirt was being pulled, awarding the penalty.

And Ricky Sappleton, who has missed a penalty already this season, powered home to equalise.

Capela was introduced on the hour mark and it took him just seven minutes to make his mark, striking beyond the goalkeeper to make it 2-1.

Alex Stephenson headed Billericay into a two-goal lead with 17 minutes remaining although Leatherhead had a great chance to get back into the match as the minutes ticked down.

Conor Hubble was shown a straight red card for a deliberate handball on the goal-line and Guiseppe Sole scored from the penalty spot.

But the best goal was still to come as a neat pass from Josh Oyinsan released Capela in the final minute and he lifted the ball impressively over the diving goalkeeper to make it 4-2.
