GREAT Wakering Rovers earned a much-needed win as they came back from a half-time deficit to take all three points at Brentwood Town.
Wakering were looking for a win after a difficult start to the season, while Brentwood had shown vast improvement in recent times.
Brentwood were looking the better of the two in the early exchanges, with goalkeeper Matt Belcher showing terrific reflexes to make some fine saves.
But there was nothing he could do about the opener seven minutes before half-time, with Charlie Georgiou finishing with aplomb into the net.
A goal down at the break, Wakering needed a response and they got one five minutes later.
Joshua Banton got his first for the club with an emphatic finish and the game was turned on its head before long.
Seven minutes after the equaliser Leon Gordon powered home to score what proved to be the decisive goal and lift Rovers onto seven points.
Great Wakering Rovers: Belcher, Banton, Spillane, Gardner (Toussaint), Easterford, Skelton, Asante, Worrell, Gordon (Hilder), Nash, Johnson (Cleaver)
