BASILDON United were thumping 4-1 winners against Stansted in the Essex Senior League, as the Bees found the cutting edge manager Aaron Bloxham had called for.
Nathan Dewberry had given the Bees a half-time lead and three second-half goals added gloss to the score-line.
Alf Lindfield, Joe Skeels and Ayoola Odedoyin completed the rout to move Basildon up to seventh.
Leaders Hullbridge Sports were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Wadham Lodge.
Luke Hornsley had opened the scoring after seven minutes, although Andrea Mantouani came the width of the crossbar away from equalising.
The equaliser came five minutes into the second-half, with Musa Mennah netting and Sports, who were put under pressure in the closing exchanges, held on for a share of the spoils.
Southend Manor were unable to get the better of a resilient Clapton side, who were occupying a top six spot.
Manor played well and can consider them unlucky not to have come away with the result.
