A WHOLE host of stars were in attendance at Hadleigh and Thundersley Cricket Club’s annual International Festival.

Ex-West Indies captain Jimmy Adams joined England old boys Chris Lewis and Devon Malcolm for what proved to be an exciting 40-over clash at the John Burrows Recreation Ground.

The Centurion World XI batted first and made 276-4, with Australian Josh Staine top scoring with 58.

Adams hit 57 not out, while Dinish Monaqi (51) and Pakistan’s Rashid Latif (33) also made vital contributions.

In reply, the Hadleigh and Thundersley International XI fell short of the winning total and were dismissed for 268.

B Ediriwia hit 77 and was well supported by India A star S Kotak. who scored 76.

Hadleigh skipper Adam Fleming also chipped in with 28 and was delighted by how the day went.

This was the 19th successive year that the International Festival took place and all money raised was donated to Havens Hospices and to developing Hadleigh’s youth scheme by installing outside nets.
