Ryman One North: Great Wakering Rovers will have an old favourite back in the ranks when they bid to unload the points from the Dockers in tonight’s Essex derby at Tilbury.

Joel Ettienne-Clark has re-sign-ed for Rovers following a lengthy spell at fellow Division One North side Waltham Forest.

Ettienne-Clark is likely to start tonight’s match on the bench after coming on as a substitute in Saturday’s 2-2 home draw with promotion-chasing Northwood.

Wakering manager iain O’Con-nell said: “Joel is a useful player to have around as he can play either right or left midfield or as a striker.

“We played some good football on Saturday and, although eventually coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2, could well have won the match.

“Apart from the two goals we scored, we had a strong penalty appeal turned down, an effort disallowed wrongly for offside, and hit the woodwork. And our top striker Neil Richmond, who scored a superb equaliser, missed an easier chance to win the game late on.

“Not that I’d blame Neil. He’s been exceptional for us over the past couple of months and his scoring record is superb.”

Rovers could have Ben Hudson and Mark Cartlidge, unavailable for the Northwood clash, back in action tonight.
