DANIEL Bunce held his nerve to score an 85th-minute penalty which took GRAYS into the top-five in Ryman Division One North.

It was harsh on a Leyton side who played well, but it made it three wins on the bounce for Julian Dicks’ side who are showing early signs they could sneak out of this division at the first time of asking.

But it was a disappointing day for TILBURY after a late winner saw them slump to a 2-1 home defeat to Potters Bar Town.

Dockers took the lead on 27 minutes when Ben Boyce tapped home the rebound from his own saved penalty.

But Leon Skinner equalised and Elvis Balik slotted home four minutes from time to give the visitors all three points.

And GREAT WAKERING ROVERS disappointing start to the season continued as they lost 3-1 at Maldon & Tiptree.

Billy Johnson got Rovers’ consolation late on after Joe Sweeney had latched on to a loose ball to open the scoring.

Rhys Henry doubled the advantage for Maldon in the second, before before Sweeney added his second of the match to make it 3-0.

The defeat leaves Ryan Wilkinson’s Rovers still looking for their first league win.
