SOUTHEND Manor manager Russell Faulkner said his players are relishing the visit of local rivals Great Wakering tonight.

Manor picked up their first Essex Senior League win of the season on Saturday with a 2-0 success at home to Sawbridgeworth Town.

Great Wakering were held to a 1-1 at home to Barking, and have gone four games without a win.

Faulkner said he’s anticipating an attractive game of football tonight.

“We go into the game boosted by our fantastic win over Sawbridgeworth Town on Saturday,” he said.

“We haven’t had a great start to the season, but we’ve got a great bunch of lads here and we’ve never lost our belief in our ability to do what we set out to achieve.

“Having Gary Paterson, Wilf Msiska and Jay Smith back from injury completely changes the dynamics of our team.

“And the addition of Bradley Williams, Robert Goff and Steve Sharp has brought more energy and a touch of class to the group.

“And we’re hopeful of getting a good game of football from two teams that like to get the ball down and play.” Kick-off at Southchurch Park tonight is at 7.45pm.
