CONCORD bounced back from their midweek FA Cup heartbreak with a stunning FA Trophy win at Nene Park, writes Jack Smith.

Kettering found themselves pegged back from the offset and were lucky not to go behind when John Easterford nipped in at the back post and somehow poked wide from point blank range.

The hosts only threat was carried by Pacome Gele on the counter attack, but he was well shackled by defensive duo of Steve King and Easterford.

The Beachboys took the lead when Harry Elmes glanced a header home from a well placed free-kick from Reece Harris.

Concord failed to finish off further good chances from their dominance in the first-half but doubled their lead soon after the restart when a short corner found Harris and he crossed for King to head home powerfully at the back post.

It was a nice moment for the centre-back who scored an own goal on Wednesday in Concord’s unlucky FA Cup replay defeat at Welling United.

Jason Hallett killed off Saturday’s tie with some late magic when he latched onto Tony Stokes’ long pass and took a deft touch before beating two men and rounding the keeper to slot home.
