Dawn French has admitted she was disappointed to find the judges being nice to each other on Superstar.

The comic and actress has joined Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jason Donovan and Mel C on the panel for the ITV1 show, which has been flagging in the ratings.

Dawn told The Sun: "There's none of this b****ing that I was expecting.

"Before the show I was like 'bring it on' - there's nothing I like more than a good punch-up," she joked.

"I've got a low centre of gravity and I'm not frightened to bite people. But no one seems to want to fight with me. It's quite disappointing," she added.

The Vicar Of Dibley star said she thought twice before accepting the offer to join the show because "I'm a bit pants at anything musical".

"But because there are other people who are [musical], and Andrew - who knows exactly what he wants - I think it is OK for me to be there," she said.

The show is searching for a new star to take on the role of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar for an arena tour.
