SHOPPERS are set to enjoy performances from snake charmers and contortionists as the circus comes to Eastgate shopping centre this month.

The shopping centre in Basildon town centre is set to host a circus-themed event extravaganza of entertainment this month with acts including snake charmers, hula hoopers, contortionists and a ringmaster juggler.

Entry is free to the event on Saturday, May 25, with performances from 11am until 2pm.

An Eastgate shopping centre spokesman said: "Free entry to watch in awe as our snake charmers hypnotise with their slithery friend, be led by our ringmaster as they command the spotlight, as our hula hoopers spin and twirl with jaw-dropping precision, and hold your breath as our contortionists bend and twist in ways you never thought possible!"

 

The performance times at the shopping centre are as follows: 

 

  • 11am – 15-minute juggler and snake charmer stage show
  • 11.30am – Hula hooper and contortionist 20 minute walkabout
  • 12:00pm – 15 minute juggler and contortionist stage show
  • 12:30pm – 20 minute snake charmer and hula hooper walkabout
  • 01:00pm – 15 minute juggler and hula hooper stage show
  • 01:30pm – 20 minute snake charmer and contortionist walkabout

The ringmaster will be keeping the excitement alive from 11am until 2pm, but shoppers are urged to plan their timings accordingly so they don't miss out.
