SOUTHEND United defender Ollie Kensdale has been named in the England C squad for their match with Nepal next Monday.

Kensdale enjoyed another impressive season with the Shrimpers, making 42 appearances at the heart of the back three.

And the 24-year-old has now been rewarded with his first call up into Paul Fairclough's squad.

The match takes place at Aldershot Town's EBB Stadium on Monday May 6, kick off 3pm.

Former Southend High School pupil Josh Rees has also been included in the squad after his fine campaign with Dagenham & Redbridge.

It is understood more Blues players were considered for selection but were not available due to the timing of the fixture.
